The RSO Chamber Players (also referred to as the ‘core') are the heart and soul of the Regina Symphony Orchestra. These 12 musicians are among the best musicians in the orchestra and are the leaders of their respective sections: Violin I & II, Viola, Cello, Bass, Trumpet, Horn, Bassoon, Clarinet, Flute, & Oboe. Annually the chamber group performs at all major concerts, and as the RSO Chamber Players ensemble at: 4 Culinary World Tour concerts (in partnership with the Hotel Saskatchewan Radisson Plaza); 40 school concerts; and 3-4 double ‘run out' concerts in South Saskatchewan communities. The Chamber Players also act as ambassadors for the orchestra through the RSO's many free chamber concerts (throughout the city) per season and at public events such as the annual Provincial Remembrance Day service at the Legislative Building. On top of their busy RSO schedule the individual musicians of the RSO Chamber Players, teach at the Conservatory of Performing Arts and privately, build and repair instruments, and compose and arrange music. |
