Marie-Noelle Berthelet, Principal Flute
Marie-Noelle Berthelet was appointed principal flute of the Regina Symphony Orchestra after she graduated from University of Montreal in 2004. She was the student of Jacques Zoon and Jeanne Baxtresser at the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston and was awarded the Governor General's Medal for her studies in flute interpretation at the Conservatoire de Musique de Trois-Rivieres. Originally from Joliette, Quebec, Marie-Noelle now lives in Regina where she performs with the Nexen RSO Chamber Players, as well as the Regina Symphony Orchestra. She is also a member of Per Sonatori, a baroque period-instrument ensemble, in which she plays both baroque flute and recorders. She also enjoys performing contemporary music with the University of Regina New Music Ensemble. As a soloist, she has performed concertos by Reinecke, Vivaldi and Mozart with several ensembles through Canada. She is teaching at the University of Regina and at the Regina Conservatory of Performing Arts. |
